Q: My car was rear-ended by a truck and I suffered a serious lower back injury. My insurance company wants me to sign some papers so they can "authorize" my medical care. What should I do?

A: Sign nothing and make no statements until you or a family member has spoken with an experienced attorney about your case. If you have casualty insurance, then no additions, amendments or forms should be required in the aftermath of a traffic accident. Any efforts to the contrary is a possible sign of deception on the part of the insurance company.
